I'll tell ya something else that only a grieving mom could understand... no one mentioned to me to get a lock of Lora's hair before we buried her (and I certainly wasn't thinking clearly). So when I opened the jar of face cream and found one of her long brown hairs caught in the lid -- well, let's just say, that jar (along with all her makeup, clothes, little notes, etc) is a treasure to me now. I had done her laundry for her at college a few days before her death, but the few dirty socks she had accumulated have been kept too -- as is.
And there's no one I've ever told this too, either. Who else could understand?
