I haven't been on here because BOTH of my parents landed in the hospital (dad in ICU..long story; mom broke her hip). Both are now progressed enough to go to the rehabilitation center, probably for another 2-3 weeks. They "think" they'll be able to go home & hire someone to come care for them, but that isn't financially realistic. I suggested temporary assisted living, and they both blew up at me. But I've collected all the info for BOTH, and made them each a folder to leave with them (I have to get back home this Friday). They have NO ONE locally with them. Mom's brother that helps lives over 2 hours away, and can come for a week or so at a time, and I can go back once more for a week or so, but that leaves HUGE gaps when they'd be alone. I don't think that's realistic. We'll see.
