Have you worked out how your parents will be cared for yet? If they go into assisted living, they will probably actually enjoy it just as long as they get into a good place. I have had a couple of friends whose parents did the assisted living and really loved it, but I also had a dear old friend that got into a bad situation. It would probably be less expensive to find someone to move in and take care of them if you could be fortunate enough to find someone very kind and trustworthy. My sister took care of an elderly man for a couple of years until he died. It was a great situation for both the old man and for my sister. The old man loved having her around, and at the time she desperately needed employment and a good place to live. There are alternatives to assisted living, but you have to be so extremely careful. Growing old is another thing I don’t understand about life. Why is it that God allows such physical suffering in our bodies from simply getting older? Why is it that there are those who live until they cannot take care of themselves while my Bobby and your Lora Beth died so very young? I will continue to pray that God will resolve this situation for you and your parents.
