I respect your interpretation, Sandra. I used to view death the same way when I was a member of a Word of Faith church.
While we disagree as to who determines the length of each life (I believe it's God and God alone in the life of children and believers), we must agree that the end of life does not catch God by surprise... and that He has allowed it (so that we do not experience eternal life HERE, rather than in His dwelling place), and He did not prevent it in the case of our children. Why?
Apparently I don't have a "need to know" the answer to that question yet... as He told me, during the first year after Lora's death, when I'd badgered Him for the 100th time about it... "And exactly WHAT reason could I give you, Jan, that would be good enough for you?" It was at that moment that I realized... there was NO reason "good enough" for me as her momma. He could have told me that as a result of her death my entire family would be eternally saved, and still I would have argued for another, different way for Him to accomplish it.
So... we must rest in His wisdom, even as we disagree, and perhaps even hate it. Otherwise we destroy what's left of our own short time here. And that, I know, would sadden our children.
hugs,
jan
