Well, it's been a little over 10 years for me, and although my life finally has some meaning in it again (with two beautiful granddaughters, and my two overseas children & their families), all the struggle this summer with both my parents' failing health has stirred up the ugly mud of depression that I always associate now with death & dying. True, our hope is in the Lord, and Eternity waits for us -- but the here and now can be so hard to wade through sometimes.
The EMDR counseling I got the first half of this year helped me, but I had to stop because of unexpected huge expenses here at home.
