Hi Billy
Just want to say thanks for a fantastic album. Ordered it last sunday and it arrived on wednesday morning along with the Hull story dvd.
My dad was a miner at Bates colliery in Blyth and hearing the music has brought back memories from when I was a lad back in the late 60s and early 70s and he took me to the pit on his bike on pay day and being shown around the pit head and even once when I was 16 being alllowed down in the lift that lead to the coal face.
I remember being terrified and it put me off becoming a miner.
Thanks again for a wonderful collection of traditional songs and ones written by yourself.
