This morning, my wife asked me "Who did the song Key Largo". Instantly I said Bertie Higgins. When the song first came out I was a radio DJ at a one-lung AM station in upstate NY. Upon hearing the title of that song and saying the name Bertie Higgins, I was instantly, (mentally), transported back to those days and the good feelings that Key Largo evoked. Thank you Bertie, for giving me, and others I am sure, a musical "states of mind" where the warm wind is blowing, the sun is shining and the boss doesn't know where I am.
