HI, Nina Mathews from La Grange Tx Born in Tx but raised in Calif until I was 18yrs married and came home. My grandfather was one of the largest hunting dog breeder in Ok. Mostly Beagles he,my uncle and my mom. mom had her female beagle (Cleo) in the field she held her number one title until she got too old to hunt anymore. So I grew up with Beagles but allso grew up watching Lassie Boy did I upset the family when at 17yrs I bought my first reg dog you got it a collie mom was ok with it but the rest was not but got use to it. Then at 20yrs a friend got me started with the dobes now that really did some upset more than the collie but they are use to them now should be after 30yrs of seeing me with them. My family now likes the breed just as much as I do. I started out in the obedience ring and then added Schuz. worked all of my dogs into all 4 levels, stoped when my trainer moved to Fl. Then my friend took me to my first dog show and it all started she got me started with my first show girl and from there I'm here now. I own 2 dobies ( Hope ) which most as seen she is a AKC champion and a UKC Grande( Spirit )my male is AKC maj. pointed and UKC Grande, Hope and Spirit has 4 3mos old pups now and they will start showing in Sept. I allso now have 2 shelties male and female that i will be showing in UKC and AKC. I'm very strong on health testing dogs no matter what lines they come from before you add them to your breeding program.
