Experience, more to the point, the lack of experience brings these matters into focus. Many of these new "all breed" judges have no experience except to the breed they showed. Now they are licensed for hundreds of breeds with little or nothing to base rational decisions on. Why at Hutto did a judge fail to excuse a dog that limped every step it took in the ring. Not only did the judge not excuse the dog, but gave it BM, BW and BOB for it's breed. The dog limped in every class. The UKC rules are clear in stating that any dog that limps or is lame MUST BE EXCUSED. Not should be disqualified or perhaps disqualified. MUST BE DISQUALIFIED. Why don't UKC judges follow the rules? Until you as exhibitors stand up and put these things in writing, nothing will change. This is not to say "complain because you did not win", But if a judge demonstrates that they are not familar with, or do not understand, what their job is, what will you as an exhibitor do?
