No, Landon, some of these fishermen don't use ethics when it comes down to money. Its a sportsmenship thing. Some of these guys act like they are going to loose the farm if thy don't get a top five check on Sat, or Mr cobb himself is going to beat down their door if they can win this thing and they only way they can do that is to do an unfair and unsportsman like act. I really don't think that it is the tournament directors place to tell you not to break they law. People are talking about how these damn pits are blocked off illegaly. But I don't see any of these people going to the owners front door confronting them about it or calling the game commision to get the gates and barrels taken down. You don't carry your ass onto posted land to kill a deer int he rut do you, you might get more than you bargained for from the land owner. If you want to get serious about it these people paid their hard earned $ a long time ago to quarry their land out to make $ on the rock, the only way to get the rock out was to access the river. Now here is your sign on this part of the story, did you know that they chose not to block their land off so that you and I could fish. It was only until their insurance companies made them block it off to the public for fear of being sued for an accident. These pits and others like it are some of the few places these main river fish have to spawn. This river does not replinish itself like Amistad or Santee. The same people who paid $ to be "Concerned Bass Anglers" are some of the same people who are being unsportsman like when it comes to fishing for $. A good friend of mine said it best, " I fish this river everyweekend, and I don't mind if you beat me,.. just don't cheat me"..........
