You are right about the fact that we do not have any rule in regards to this matter on our tournament series. If we did I really don't see any way to uphold the rule. Like you said, your 50 yards and mine could be completely different. What if one person filed a complaint against another and there were no other witnesses? Now its word against word. The only foreseeable solution would be if we all did as you and I do and extend some courtesy to our fellow competitors. We all want to win, but I won't do it if it means compromising my integrity. By the way, this is in NO WAY a knock on how well Wayne and Kim run this tournament trail. They do it better than any other around.
: Unfortunately we do not have a rule covering
: this issue. Myself I try to give someone at
: least 50 yards.Most trails that do have a
: rule for this requires that you are anchored
: and the trolling motor out of the water.
: Then the only problem you have then is can
: everyone judge 50 yards correctly...nope
: your 50 or mine could be off 20 yards. It
: unfortunately is poor sportsmanship and the
: way the rules are set they committed nothing
: wrong by the rules but I would say they were
: wrong in doing what they did !

: Just my 2 cents worth.

: So far this tournament season, my partner
: and
: I have had mostly good experiences in
: regards to sportsmanship. However in the
: July tournament and yesterdays tournament we
: had a fellow competitor come into a very
: small creek behind us. Once planing to
: within 20 yards of us, setting down and
: continuing to fish right up to and then
: passed us. This same person did the same
: thing in yesterdays tournament. Now this
: time he didnt plane in on top of us, but
: none the less, fished right up to us and
: right around us and continued on in front of
: us. Dont get me wrong. He was very nice and
: talkative to us as he did this, but it still
: seemed to me to be a bit of poor
: sportsmanship. I personally do not do this.
: I will not come in and fish within a
: reasonable distance around another
: tournament competitor. I would like to hear
: from others on this matter. Those guilty of
: this know who you are and sure arent making
: any friends.
