After having such a great auction at the last show. We have decided it’s only fair to reward the people who bring items. The auction (financially speaking) is what keeps the club growing. Without it the club can get by as we have for the past few months when the auctions were basically non-existent but in order to move forward as a club toward our goals we need all of the auctions to be successful as it was in August. To help this happen every person who donates an item to be auctioned off will be entered into a drawing for a cash prize which will be determined by the size of the auction. This is the perfect way to help the club as well as have a chance to help yourself.
With all of that said we would like to try a silent auction this month as well as our regular auction. We have never tried one before and this is just to test the waters. The perfect items for this would be homemade baked goods. It only takes a couple of bucks to make a pie but it may go for $10 in the silent auction. Gift baskets are another easy to put together item that works well in silent auctions or maybe you know a business owner who would like a little advertisement and would possibly donate an item or gift certificate. On top of what I mentioned earlier as a reward for donating to the auction those of you who donate to the silent auction will receive additional benefits.
The 5 items with the highest bid at the end of the auction will receive a VSBA prize package which will include items such as our new t-shirts (which will be in before our next show) gift certificates for the show as well as for concessions, and even cash!
When you ladies start making these items keep in mind I will bid very high on Chess Squares as well as Apple Pies!
