I have fished Chautauqua lake several times in the spring and fall. I have had a problem finding the smallmouth in the fall. We have fished outside weed edge and inside the weed edge without much success on smallmouth in the fall. We have mainly been there in September and once or twice in October and once in November. We have had 2 decent trips in early September, but can't get in on the fish in October. Can you give me some help on when in October starts the best fishing. If so, is it a shallow water bite with cranks, silver buddy's deep, topwater repalas outside weed edge, tubes shallow or deep? We are going to try to come up in October, but trying to find most consistent time for smallmouths. Any information would be grealy appreciated.
Thank you and good fishing!!!!
