My father and I have fished Chautauqua Lake several times in the fall (including 3 in Septmeber, 2 in October, and once in November). The only trips we have put a pattern together was in Septmeber. I was looking for some information about fishing for smallies in October. The lake seems to turn-over around the 3rd or 4th week in Septmeber from our past September trips we have taken. In October, are the smallies in shallow h20 or outside weed edge, or deep h20? What are the main baits usually used at Chautauqua Lake in October? Blade baits, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, topwater, jerkbaits? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you and Good Fishing!!!!!!!!!
