Posted by JIMBO on December 23, 2006, 12:55 am The game was a total disaster and the blame should be focused on PIAA football officials who are aware of the strenght of Southern Columbia army of GIANTS.There is no reasonable comparasion between Southern Columbia District IV and all of the Class A and AA of District XI. State championships become traditions at Southern Columbia. The Tigers are aware they will be Class A champions at the beginging of the regular season. They have defeated every team in Class AA that they played in District IV. They have proven that they belong in Class AA in District IV. At least during the regular football season I can enjoy watching the Blue Devils compete in Class A District XI where all the football players are in propration. Shenandoah Valley is prehaps the smallest school district in the PIAA and physically the smallest football players in DISTRICT xI yet it has an equal chance to compete as do the other Class A teams.

I have been attending Shenandoah Valley games since 1970.I have watched them play in fair weather, cold weather and rain ect.
I say that the Blue Devils play exciting games, dull games and disapointing games. I saw them win big, and loose big.
The S.V. football game with Southern Columbia was a total disaster. I dont blame the Blue Devils players for there loose. They were just too small to compete with the Southern Columbia army of GIANTS. As i sat in the blechers I obsereved the Tigers band on the football field i was amazed to see how many band members from a Class "A" school
As i observed the 2 teams on the field before the game began. I saw Southern Columbia army of giants to my right and to my left was Shenandoah High half the size of Southern Columbia.
The shenandoah blue devils showed a spark of play in the first half of the game but the spark extinguished.
The southern columbia players dominated the remaining first half and all the second half.Southern columbia scored on every possesion of the football.
Sothern columbia Jim Roth apparently let every player of his football team play during the second half and still Southern Columbia scored. The Blue Devils were unable to stop them.
Southern Columbia's coach was so concerend about the Blue Devils he exhibited compassion and declined to go for extra point following each touchdown at the closing of the second half. The final score read Southern Columbia 61 Shenandoah Valley 15.
