I would be smug too if I were you.
I have a few very small desert gardens, which are covered in winter, but want to create something much larger when I get a chance. Nine yards of gravel has been sitting in front of a greenhouse for an embarrassingly long time. There is a bit of a slope in the area already, so I hope to exaggerate that and use the gravel (likely will need more) along with local rocks. Gardens like yours are truly inspiring. Have also picked up a few books on desert gardens. Unlike the rest of my garden, this time I will have a vision and create a plan before starting.
I guess I need to set up my own system to find out for sure. Will be interesting to see how the carnerosana and some other plants fare this winter.
