Gard. 22:95, 1912) A very variable complex, identified as the natural hybrid A. lechugilla x A. neomexicana by Trelease(l.c.), Gentry (1982:530), and Pinkava & Baker (1985). Since the latter putative parent is absent from major parts of the area of A. x gracilipes, other parent species must be involved as well (A. parryi?) And thats it.
