I guess that is the beauty of growing things from seed. Within certain parameters whihc makes then immediately identifiable as montana, every single plant had it's own identity and was distinct from it's neighbour. Whether it was the size or colour of the teeth, the degree of bud printing, how much glaucous patina there is, the amount that the leaf tip narrowed down - that kind of thing. There are even a scattering of variegates - I've seen three there. Ian - might find a bit of seed in Jan - but they don't get that fat globe artichoke look for some years. Seedlings look nothing like the parents, so maybe yours will be ok. After all, La Pena is the town at the base of the mountain road that we got the seed from. Can you post a pic of yours?
