I just received a bunch of cactus seed from Mesa Garden this week. Included are a few Pediocactus, Sclerocactus, and Opuntia. I know that these species generally require stratification for germination but I wasn't sure if it was too late to sow them. After checking Mesa Garden's website again, I found that as long as they were sown by the end of January, they should go through enough freeze-thaw cycles to germinate in the spring. I'm not sure if the same is true for areas of the Pacific Northwest that don't receive as much frost as the desert areas of the west, but I thought I would share the information in case others on the board were wondering the same thing.
