Yes, I've been wondering about this since writing that last post. Perhaps the giants I measured on the way up to La Peņa were in fact the intergrades Richard speaks of?? They look just like a D. miquihuanensis but bigger and the tips are congested and never fraying (though the latter is not that important). I'd post a pic but can't on this forum. Flower spikes were up to 6m! That's considerably bigger than Bogler states for the species. They could still just fall into the range of variation I suppose and Bogler just hasn't seen them....it seems his eyesight isn't too good nowadays anyhow ;-)
