Posted by Nick Macer I've offered a few of my Mexican oak collections over the last year or two. Allen has tried to put names on some of them, but with a few of them it ain't that easy it seems. One at least (Q. pungens) appears to be extremely rare and new to cultivation in the UK. It seems I can only put one shot up at a time here. Anyway here's a D. durangensis.

Hi David. Yes indeed, I first new Allen when I was a student at the Hiller arboretum back in '92, where he is of course the resident botanist. I seem to have let my membership of the IOS lapse just recently...
