I haven't tried it, but I tend to think this one might not be hardy enough for us and have passed it by in favor of other species. Seems like if you were going to try it you might as well try A. celsii, some forms of which are known to be hardier. I have a bunch of Agave celsii seedlings that seem to be mostly surviving the winter in my unheated greenhouse in an unwatered state.
