i've had dasylirion berlandirei in my garden for it's 3rd winter now low this year 9 F/-12.77 C last year down to 6 F /-14.4 with entended sub freezing temps. i grew it in a pot for 2 years and protected it before putting it out, it's about 5'/ 160cm wide. 
i think the tips look great with a night shot and flash
