Hi jim r,
I know md my Grandfather has a cousin which lives in Bowie that approx 50km far from you.
You are correct that is Butia capitata, but here in my region we have to take care of this palm
itīs not easily to grow them up here.
This palm is every year protected with doubled air bubble plastic.
The risk is to high to loss this Palm.
The usda zones in Europe are much harder than the usda zones in the States.
Also for Jubaea chilensis I have to take care.
This year I plant also Butia yatay & Butia eriospatha out.
Hopefully they will also grow up in good conditions like her sister B. capitata.
Cheers
Sascha - Steinau
