Some trachys fortunei, takil wild form, sabal louisiana, sabal cape hatteras, sabal burmingham, and defenitley needle palm. I think starting from seed or small plants is best. Everyone seems to think they will be more cold hardy if started outside as seedlings from what I have read. I have everything greenhoused in a passive solar greenhouse and it does get quite cold in there below freezing. The palms do not lok great. I am probably really confusing them because it is warm with solar heat at daytime and cold at night usually ten to fifteen degrees warmer than outside.
I have a soil supplier who will mix the soil the way it needs to be ,but this and a raised bed are going to cost some dinero. I sometimes think this is a invain attempt and I should just donate the money to some charity instead.-wb
