hey ian, of the seeds i got from you agave/yucca....planted fall `06, parryi was damaged, chrysantha somewhat, havardiana really no damage at all. havardiana seems to be a good bet for here in georgia. a couple of the h. were overturned out of their 4" pots that i didn`t discover for two weeks, but after being repotted they all look fine. as for yuccas... rostrata is fine, surprise! whippleii is doing very well,no damage from winter or rot last summer. have a cluster of three that are planted out, they were fine also. whippleii has gorgeus foliage, stiff and very blue...tints lavender during the cold.kept all the potted seedlings up against a south-facing brick wall, no other protection. hope to get a lot of them planted out this season. we had several nights down into the teens in january, but not a really cold winter. and a comment on ocotillo.....have always wanted to try one, as far as i know none are being grown here (too cold outdoors) they should be great for a large pot. does anyone know if seeds have been colected from the more northerly populations in nm ? later, randy
