Ian, What about aloinopsis, rabia, titanopsis? Must confess am not sure exactly what -12C is in F, so could be a little off. A plant that has done extremely well for me is rabia albipuncta.... blooms here from about Thanksgiving until Valentine`s Day. I would bet it would be fine in/on a south-facing wall there in Washington. There are several sedums small enough to be tucked here and there in a wall. Good Luck! Post some pics as it comes along.
