In the years since I've started this board, it has appeared to take off twice, and then each time activity faded away. Certainly it would have helped if I had posted more here myself. But perhaps more importantly, this board as it was failed to fill any niche that hadn't already been filled. Other forums for discussing cacti and succulents in cool climates are already very well established (particularly the yahoo group toocoldforcactus). Therefore I've decided to change the title to something that I hope will be sufficiently unlike any other existing internet forum to gather a more consistent following. Hopefully it will accommodate a broader range of interests and seem more useful to people who might not be interested in cacti.
So really if you're at all interested in xeriscaping or low maintenance gardening in the Pacific Northwest, regardless of what your garden looks like or what kinds of plants appeal to you, this is the place for you. And of course much of what is discussed here can translate to similar climates around the world. If there's enough interest in this board, I'll purchase a paid term of service to remove the ads. I'll also try to post here regularly myself - we'll see how that goes.
Your comments and ideas are welcome!
