Is a person anything that has rights? It seemed this way when we discussed abortion. If a fetus was a person, it had the right to life. Does this mean that non-living beings can be persons? If we bestow a dog with rights, then is it a person? What about a computer? Or a rock? If we give them rights, are they people too? It seems odd to think of a rock as a person.
