I was always really interested about the ideas of existentialism and reading Sartre's essay gave me a better grasp of the concept.
Just a thought...He argues that people are scared of the doctrine because it forces us to accept responsibility for ourselves. It contrasts with the comfort of the idea that some divine being has a plan for everyone and we will be taken care of. So does it make humans better in embracing existentialism since we are prone to be less complacent know that we have to work for what we want or get to where we want to be??
Also, he talks about three points: anguish, forlornness, and despair. I understood the first two points, but what was his stance on despair?
