I believe in Rome, infanticide can only occur with the consent of the father but if anyone else knows otherwise, let me know.
Infanticide was a common practice in the rural areas of China because girls weren't as desirable to have. Many babies were drowned in the toilet or thrown into the trash. x_x My parents actually witnessed some infanticide...gah.
