Well, I'd be a little careful here. One executive order Bush signed at the very end of his term allowed medical personnel of all types to refuse to serve if it violated their conscience. He was very strongly criticized (by the pro-choice side) for signing this order because it would allow, for example, druggists to refuse to dispense contraceptives.
With doctors, current practice I believe is that if they are unwilling to perform abortions, they don't have to. But...should they have to? Suppose a woman is brought into the emergency room and she's hemorrhaging. If an abortion is not performed, both she and the fetus will die. Does a doctor have the right to refuse under such circumstances?
So, RC, as a pro-choice person, you accept the right of this young lady to go ahead with having 8 children in addition to the 6 she already had? Well, I hope you're not a ZPG supporter!
