Pepper Canyon Hall is right behind the Gilman Parking Structure. You do have to pay for parking, even after 6, but there are meters that I believe go for two hours for just a couple bucks. I guess that means either running out to plug the meter during the movie, or else there are also permits available for a few dollars more from the machines outside the parking office (on the first floor of the garage).
If you aren't familiar with the Gilman Parking structure, it is on Gilman Drive just east of library walk, across from the medical school. If this link works, it shows a map:
