what if it is more than a slight decrease in profit to improve quality of working conditions? and if many conditions needs to be changed?
I believe that many, not all, company owners only care about the amount that go in their pockets, and could care less about their employees as long as their salaries don't decreases. Therefore, I believe it is unlikely that companies will be willing to take a slight decrease... unless they see an increase in the long run overall? but that's always hard to predict
