Davis basically says that CSR helps companies profit, and that's how CSR and profit can coexist. His CSR is not really based on a strict "moral" ground; it's more of a "have CSR so you can make money" ground. He sees that companies' goals are to profit, not to do moral good, so he points out that CSR is actually in line of achieving these goals to profit, not against, and that's the reason companies should have CSR. So yeah, I see it as a middle ground too.
