I dont' think I have anything helpful to add, other than my husband always asks me if I am keeping my furkid here for me or for my furkid. That reminds me to really soul-search and be honest about my reasoning because saying goodbye is never easy.
As for the numbers and the kitties, I am no help! I am trying hard to keep it at 3 dogs (4 cats, 1 snake, 3 chickens and 5 horses). I would probably end up keeping the kitties, especially how things are currently with all of the abandoned animals and because you have the elderly kitties. I would try to rationalize it. I am sure that was REALLY helpful for you. :-) B
