Not the same illnesses but it was a hard, hot summer for him after we started treating him for his heart failure and diabetes. When he had the stroke we didn't even wait until our vet was open but had him euthanized at a 24 hour emergency clinic.
Sometimes I read articles about animals recovering after strokes and the ol' record starts up in my head about euthanizing him too soon. Then I have to clobber myself mentally a few times to remind me how it really was with him and how I was having some doubts about keeping him alive as long as I had. With Curie now facing two chronic an fatal conditions, I must force myself to not draw things out t0o far with her.
