I appreciate all the replies and thoughts....
Things have been OK since we brought Danno home from the vet last Wednesday....
The boys just pal around.. play... even lay on each other when they sleep.
Got some training tips from our trainer... as far as leave it... and working with them to not go after food items. Have to work that stuff.
Changed up our habits..... no more taking food of any kind into the living room to sit, relax and watch the tv. Pat and I now eat separately in the kitchen while the kids are with the other in the opther room. We are also getting Zeke off of his prednisone... which... had made him very thirsty, but also voraciously hungry 24/7.
The trigger issue appears to be any large treat such as a larger rawhide... or a dropped treat, or dropped food.
So far... as long as they are not near us when we eat, and are not given treats that they can try and steal from each other.... or be in the presence of dropped people food... we are doing OK.
Lynne..... Zeke and Danno are each 2 1/2 yrs old... within 3 months of each other. Danno came to us from rescue ... it'll be a year next month. They have had some precursor fights before this one.... but all have been with Zeke on the pred/high food/hunger drive... and all have been over a stolen large chewey or dropped food.
