I would have preferred to wait also, but he was just too bad and in pain. It has actually been easier the second time around. I don't know why, but Ruger has been so good and has taken things slowly on his own - almost as if he heard the vet's directions! ;-P
It certainly isn't fun for them or for us! Good luck with Mickey! Hope the surgery is successful and he heals quickly! Maybe Ruger should have a chat with him and tell him to be good on his own, and make things easier for you. ;-)
