Better late, than ever, Since I am one of the last to sign up. First I want to thank Everyone that had a hand in the web-page and the finding of our classmates for the outstanding job they had done. It is fantastic! After see the old picture of the school I throught of football gams, basketball games, track, typing and Chemistry and of the great teachers we must have had. And I must be one of the experts on this subject since I attended School at Fairview for some 12 years, starting in the 1st grade. After the last trip to Camden to move my mother and driving around my mind when back to the small road with two small bridges leding into town, the old gravel road/ with the wooden bridge; White City and the floods (Shirley Patterson remembers); Cullendale and the Paper Mill with it smell and the trains; the Old Navy Ordance Plant; The Old Roofing Plant where we climbed the back fence and searched around for comic books; and the two movie theaters in our proud old city, where you could see a movie for 24 cents. The memories came flowing back of the good old days. Like the book, "We were Soldiers Once and --Young." We were kids once and young, but the memories of our youth shall not pass and the memories of our age are still fresh with us and it has been good to see my child grow up and have kids and to be a grandpa. We had ours and we enjoyed every minute of it, it is now time for our children. We must, like our parents before us, spoil all the grandkids, then take them back to their mom and dads (our kids) and smile when we leave.
To the good old days and fond memories of a place where we all grew up, called Cullendale, White City, French Port, The Topper, Louann, and Fairview Schools.
Again thanks to everyone for their hard work on this project, I am proud to had my information to the listings.
