I have gone to Kerri Cobb for 4 years and I couldn't praise her more! I have been pitching for 4 years and I now exactly what you are talking about. Kerri style is mechanics, location, speed. Im my opinion mechanics are more important than speed! If you have good form, speed will come. Everyone has seen those girls who have a pitchers body and they throw hard but their form couldn't be worse. Espeacially with high schools going to 43ft in the 2010-2011 season. My feel is pitchers will no longer be able to dominate just by their speed. So my personal feeling is that even if you don't throw hard you can still be effective as long as you hit you hit your spots, have a good change-up and other movement pitches. Finally to answer your question most efective 14u pitchers live in the mid to high 50's and have a good change-up, drop, possibly drop curve or drop change, screw ball , regualar curve and are in the process of learning a rise. I hope this helps , but PLEASE understand even if you are not throwing that fast or you don't have that many pitches you can still be a Great pitcher! WORK ETHIC IS EVERYTHING!!!
