Posted by hekiliko'olau Flat tires and lockouts - for $4.99/day, which many people happily pay, we outsource someone to unlock your car, jumpstart your car, change your flat, bring you gas, etc. Just like AAA and I get paid commision for it. If the customer does not pay for "roadsafe" we send a spare key by cab and they pay for the spare key and the cab. Conversions - only 1 that I know of so far, and those get handled by a private security company, so no late night drive-bys to deal with. Additional drivers - $6/day, and guess what, I get paid for those too. GPS - $60/week, and again, commission. Full coverage - $53/day, surprise, commission. Upgrades - usually $20-$50/day, more commission. So let's do some math: Customer has an FCAR res at say, $35/day for 4 days. 40+22+13+6= $81.00/day x 4 days = $324.00 of extra income you earned your company. Depending on your yield, you get between 3.5-12% of that transaction. You get between $11.34 - $38.88 for that transaction. Say you write 30 tickets today (conservative estimate) and only half of them go this well. You just made $170 - $583 today on top of your hourly rate. If you can sell you will generate $2,000-$4,000/day extra income for your company. If you are consistent and have a good yield, your commission will be 12% of that. You work 20 days a month. At the bottom end, your commission is $4,800. Several of your peers will make upwards of $7,000. This is ON TOP OF your hourly rate, which at this point is just "beer money" to you.

: seeking employment with ERAC.
:Here ya go!
Renting cars for a living is no grand affair, regardless of which company you work for, but you should at least get more than a $100 check and dinner for your efforts. We have the same benefits - Medical, Dental, Vision, Paid Vacation, Referral Bonus, Discount Rental for friends and family, etc. We are not required to take CDW (LDW) to get the discount, but if your friends and family upgrade or take coverage, whoever writes the ticket gets paid for it. DTG does pre-hire and random drug screening, so you don't have to work with any moody ice-heads. I consider myself to be an average to above average salesperson, and I am making about $20-$25/hr, writing an average of 30 contracts per day. Once I get the hang of it, that number will increase significantly. It's not like I'll be rich enough to retire in 6 years on that kind of money, but at least it's an honest figure, rather than some inflated bullshit number like they boast about at ERAC. There are about 10 people who sell consistently better than I who are making $30-$50/hr, writing 40-50 contracts per day. 3 or 4 of them hit 6 figures last year and are headed for a repeat this year. I'll make as much as a GP36 branch manager this year and possibly as much as an ARM. The best part is that I will only have to work an 8 hour day, 5 days a week to get it. I don't know about you, but having time to have a life is just as valuable to me as money.
Cash customers - they have to give up their first born, so we don't get many of them.
You upgrade them to a MVAR for $40/day.
They take coverage, let's be realistic and say they only take LDW $22/day and SLI at $13/day.
They have an additional driver for $6/day.
I forgot to mention tuition reimbursement. I know, I know, that pales in comparison to the "virtual MBA" I could have gotten from ERAC, but now I can get a real MBA and DTG will help me pay for it. Could you imagine trying to convince a prospective employer that you have a virtual MBA from ERAC community college? LMFAO
