Ackling Gets the Job

After a Committee meeting on 30th March 2008, Thatcham Town Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Gary Ackling as First Team Manager. Gary will be joined by Steve Hale who will join from Devizes as Assistant Manager and Head Coach.
Gary who was recently installed as caretaker manager will take up the position with immediate effect, whilst Steve will join at the end of the season as he currently has commitments at Devizes Football Club where he is currently first team manager.
The Club have acted quickly in making permanent the appointment to allow the new management team time to plan for the new season.
A deciding factor in the appointment was the mature levels of professionalism the pair showed, this combined with their desire to develop, not only the first team, but the whole of the club, a desire which matches the Committees aims to improve all aspects of the club and its involvement with the local community.
Thatcham Football Club are delighted with the appointment and are looking forward to the extensive experience of management that Gary will bring to the Club combined with the high level of coaching qualifications and ability that Steve possesses.
They will be joined by Richard Fox as Sports Therapist and Pat Horsman as Football Secretary.
Good to see Acko get the job, bet he still gets up the elms every sunday afternoon though! Obviously my source was wrong about Haler and Bassett though.
