Standing high above the small town of New York City, atop of one of the courthouses, stands Zero. He sees the evil-doers spray painting the side of the New York City Public School 133 Gymnasium. With a quick shot from his military-grade grappling gun, he swings down and comes to a fairly graceful stop just a few dozen feet away. He stands there, the wind blows his cape behind him as he raises up his arm and levels an accusatory finger at the two malefactors.
"You shall cease and desist with your illegal activities, lawbreakers!"
The two kids jump, startled for a brief moment until they see Zero step out of the shadows, to reveal himself to the two kids. Zero is only illuminated by the street lamps and the moonlight, nothing more and nothing less. He is wearing the "costume" that was given to him, a striking color feature with a mask covering his face, shielding his identity from those who would cause him or his loved ones harm.
The two juveniles see him and immediately burst into uncontrollable laughter. The cans of spray paint are still wielded in their hands and they now turn the paint cans toward Zero. With a motion almost as fast as greased lightning, Zero flings out his other hand that was hidden within his flapping wind-blown cape. A blast of light fills the air, temporary blinding the young men. Zero's face can be seen in the momentary white and orange flash of radiant light, a smile covers his face as his hand has a metallic object in it, most likely some kind of flash powder. The young men both stagger and stumble, taken aback at the unexpected light.
Zero uses the moment to his advantage and levels both of the unruly teenagers with a kick to the stomach. After all, it might not be the lawful thing to do, kicking a teenager in the stomach, but it's the right thing to do.
"What are your names, delinquents?"
One of the juveniles rattles off the name of Nicky Devins. This causes Zero to pause in contemplation. He pulls up the other unnamed teenager with a well-toned arm and shoves him away.
"Run marauder, run as fast as you can! Tell the other evildoers that you associate with, that the corrosion of their criminal behavior is at hand!"
Zero watches as the other teen, now clearly freaked out by some weird guy running around in a costume in the middle of the night, runs off. Zero now turns his attention back to the second teen, the one named Nicky Devins. His eyes narrow through his mask, giving him an even more frightening look, one of a truly mad man behind that mask. It's a wonder how the teen hasn't soiled his jeans.
"So you are Ricky Evans? I would have thought that my nemesis would have been of a bigger size. Why, you don't even look like you weigh one hundred pounds."
Zero barks out a laugh as the teen shakes his head slowly.
"N.... no... I said Nicky Devins."
Zero doesn't hear him, but is too busy lost in his own thoughts.
"You're going to regret this day, villain! I've seen the paper listing my name along side yours and your blatantly evil partner in crime Logan Neilson! I know that you might say that you are my Kryptonite and that I am nothing more than some wannabe superhero like Aquaman. Well first, allow me to educate you on the powers of Aquaman. He can talk to fish. That's a power that you could only dream of having. How else will you know if your fish is hungry, lonely or just wants to talk about your day? YOU WON'T, BECAUSE YOU DON'T HAVE THE POWER TO TALK TO FISH! You see, I have already foiled your future plan to compare me to Aquaman, because Aquaman is the coolest of all super heroes! He has the ability to breathe underwater. He possesses superhuman durability high enough to remain unaffected by the immense pressure and the cold temperature of the ocean depths. It also makes him tough enough to be invulnerable to machine gun fire. He has superhuman strength, he can swim 10,000 feet per second and he can swim up Niagara Falls! You have no idea of what you speak about, FOOL!
Zero chuckles to himself again before his face grows as serious as ever. He lowers a withering glare at the young man and points a finger at him.
"Your evildoer ways are coming to an end, scumbag! I'm going to see to it that you are left with nothing but the memories, as you rot in the New York City Asylum."
Nicky's eyes are now filled less with fear of Zero, but more of the fear of going to jail. Plus, there isn't any New York City Asylum, only a Mental Wellness facility, so this weird masked guy must have some creepy ass warehouse somewhere, which makes the thought even more frightening. He scrambles to his feet and turns to run away, but Zero had planned for this. He reaches his hand over to his military-grade utility belt and pulls out a small, rectangular object and presses a button. A red laser sighting is seen glowing from the opening at the end of it, and Zero aims it at the young man's back who is currently running off. He fires it, sending two dart-sized electrodes straight into the young man's back. A soft clicking noise is heard as the juvenile falls to the dirt and begins to scream in agony. Zero allows the electric shocking to continue for only a few moments more.. just to teach the young punk a lesson.. before releasing the trigger.
Zero takes a few steps over and grins down at the hooligan who is still gasping for breath. Zero places the tazer back into his utility belt, snapping it into place alongside a handful of other self-defense tools. He now lowers his grimacing, stubble-covered face down at the teen on the ground.
"No one escapes justice! Now listen here, Ricky Evans, I've seen your criminal behavior on television. I saw your shape-shifting abilities first-hand, because you look completely different now than you did when I saw you on TV last week. But that is of no matter now. You will not use your demonic powers of darkness on me! You are a bad person! You even took the last name "Evans", which everyone knows is villain code for EVIL! You are not better than me, because I am a good person, while you... you do bad things to people and expect to be rewarded for it. I despise you and your evil followers, and I will not rest until you are in prison!"
Now out of breath himself, Zero takes a moment to catch his breath and to calm himself down. Who knew that crime fighting could be such exhilarating, yet exhausting work? Zero now stands back up and crosses his arms together across his manly chest. Zero now kicks at Nicky Devins and makes a motion for him to stand as the faint sound of a police siren is heard.
"Get up criminal, I think I hear the sounds of your fate approaching."
Zero now fires his grappling gun back at the top of the courthouse across the street from the high school gymnasium. He now presses the contracting hammer and it pulls him along, flying through the air back to the top of the courthouse. As he reaches the top, Zero shouts back down at the young man.
"If you get out of jail in time, I shall soundly defeat you Ricky Evans, along with Heinrich and Logan Neilson, in front of a few thousand New York City citizens. They will all be witness to the proven fact that crime does not pay."
Zero now disappears behind the bell tower as the police car arrives, leaving the stunned Nicky Devins staring up at the courthouse in fear, wonder and confusion.
Fade to black.
