(John Null): Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen and thank you for joining on today on another edition of HWA Catch-Up, the online weekly broadcast show where we get to the nitty gritty with your favorite HWA superstars. On today's show, I'm being joined by HWA's newest tag team recruits. They made their unexpected television debut for HWA just the other night at Blood, Sweat and Tears; they are Michael and Gabriel, otherwise known as the Archangels, welcome guys.
The camera pans around to see Michael and Gabriel reclined comfortably in two plush leather seats. Michael is festooned in a casual but smartly-dressed white shirt and dark jeans, finished off with a pair of brown Velcro-strapped trainers. Gabriel is dressed similarly, his jeans are cobalt blue and his upper torso is adorned in a black figure-hugging Nike t-shirt.
(Michael): Thank you, John; it's a pleasure for my brother and I to be here.
(John Null): Well the pleasure is all mine, Michael, it's great to have you guys in the studio. Right guys, I'll get straight to business then. Your coming to the HWA has been hinted at with some cryptic messages appearing on the Havoctron over the past month or so and then you made your unofficial debut at Blood, Sweat and Tears and ended up in a brawl, well I guess the "brawl" wouldn't really describe it; you laid out the former tag team champions, the Sons of Anarchy and then handed TNT the titles. Gives us your thoughts on those actions.
Michael is the one to answer the first question after an imploring nod from his brother.
(Michael): Well attacking the Sons of Anarchy wasn't exactly what Gabriel and I had planned when we made our first live appearance on HWA television but Gabriel had a gut feeling that they would probably attack us first, so his first instinct was to defend himself.
Gabriel then cuts on his sibling, a little riled.
(Gabriel): That Angelus Payne went for me! So I had no choice! When a guy goes to punch you, you make sure you hit him before he hits you!
Michael turns his head to look at Gabriel, a calming smile on his face.
(Michael): I wasn't doubting you, Gabriel, calm down.
Gabriel breathes in before replying.
(Gabriel): Yeah, well…was just saying…
Michael turns back to John Null with apologetic expression.
(Michael): Apologies, John, my brother has a fiery temper but his intentions are noble.
Appearing intimidated, John shifts slightly in his chair before regaining his composure, clearing his throat.
(John Null): No need for apologies Michael. So back on point, you disposed of the Sons of Anarchy and preceded to hand Sheik Shakir and Curt Evers their newly-won titles, what was that about?
(Michael): Well, as much as we completely condone all their actions and ethical views, they are the new champions, and we thought it best to save the real fight for when we meet them in the ring.
(John Null): Ah, so you've set your sets firmly on winning the tag team championships?
(Gabriel): Duh! We wouldn't be here otherwise!
Michael this time cuts Gabriel a more firm look that instantly silences him.
(Michael): What my brother means to say is yes, that is our primary goal. HWA is a top federation in the wrestling world, one of the very best, if not THE best but sadly, the days seem to have passed when real tag teams justified the championship gold they wear around their waists.
(John Null): So you're saying the HWA has no decent tag teams?
Michael is just about to answer when Gabriel does it for him.
(Gabriel): The fact of the matter is this John. Just because we're new in HWA doesn't mean we're green behind the ears; we've been in this business a very long time and wrestled thousands of matches. But I have not seen one team in this company worth noting that can match us.
(John Null): A very bold statement, could you elaborate more?
(Gabriel): The Sons of Anarchy, despite being somewhat popular with the audiences are fairly skilled but they are not by any means world class athletes. Evers and Shakir don't deserve to even pull on a pair of wrestling boots, let alone carry those belts and Anton and Davis? A complete joke.
Michael rolls his eyes and motions with his hand for Gabriel to be quiet.
(Michael): What my brother really means to say is that, although we respect every team for their abilities, this division is a mere shadow of its former self and we are here to cement ourselves as the top tag team in professional wrestling. We'll take on any team on any given day to prove our worth. Like Gabriel says, we may well be the new boys here and we'll gladly pay our dues but we are by no means rookies. We are an experienced, formidable unit with the desire and passion to match.
(John Null): Wow, so who would you say are you main influences then, to whose standards to you strive to attain to?
(Michael): Well HWA-wise, Dante's Inferno is the first ones to spring to mind. We've watched HWA for a number of years and I can't really remember a more dominant and fearsome tandem than Belial and Duriel. The Luscious Ones were always entertaining aswell, able to pull off some incredible stuff and carry that charismatic aura that is so rarely seen these days. Other than that, I'd say the Jay and Mark Briscoe from Ring of Honor – those guys are just insane.
(John Null): A very wide variety it seems. Moving on from the tag team division for a moment. What are your thoughts on some of the other roster members? Has anybody caught your eyes?
(Gabriel): I have to say, I'm very impressed with Hans von Richtoven, a very worthy World Champion, a title win well overdue. He and his brother remind us of ourselves in a way. A lot of pride, and a strong sense of honor and loyalty.
(Michael): Talon Wilkinson obviously aswell, he's as good a wrestler I've seen in a long, long time, there don't seem to be many flaws in his game, despite him being beaten by Butch Parker recently. I have a feeling Talon will be back in the main event limelight in no time. Ronnie McNeil is another man that sticks out aswell, his technical prowess is outstanding and probably hasn't quite received the recognition he deserves.
(John Null): Interesting, very interesting. Going back to the tag team division, you find yourselves making your official in-ring debuts this coming Havoc against the individuals you duked it out with at the pay-per-view: the Sons of Anarchy and they've already been very vocal about the two of you.
(Michael): Yes, we did manage to see that little rant of theirs.
Michael chuckles lightly.
(Michael): I couldn't really decipher much from it. There were a lot of biblical words mixed in a lot of empty threats and a poor attempt at intimidation. In short, we're not at all bothered by this Fallen character's words. He'll soon find them leaving a very bad taste in his mouth after they are shoved back down his throat.
(Gabriel): The only thing that's guaranteed John is that at Havoc, we'll show the wrestling world just a glimpse of what a real tag team is capable of. The Sons of Anarchy may be former tag team champions but they've got nothing on us. We will walk away victorious at Havoc and there is no disputing that fact. We will dispose of every team in our way to become the HWA tag team champions and restore those belts to their rightful glory.
(John Null): Wow, there's a statement of intent if ever I heard one! Well gentlemen, that about wraps things up for now. Thank you so much for joining me this afternoon and I think I can speak for everyone when I say I'm very excited to see you in action.
(Michael): Thank you, John, very kind of you.
(Gabriel): Thanks for the time.
(John Null): There you have it folks, Michael and Gabriel – the Archangels, here to make their mark on the tag team division in the HWA.
The camera pans to see Michael and Gabriel rising from their seats and shaking hands with John Null as the scene fades out.
