David Willyard: I have three visitors in my lobby? TNT and Ronnie McNeil? Go ahead and send Ronnie in first.
David hangs the phone up and waits for Ronnie’s entrance. After a few moments, Ronnie enters, wearing an Alabama polo shirt, slacks, and boots, and sits down.
RM: You wanted me to come here....may I ask why
David Willyard: Yes I did champ... Oh excuse me former champ, I saw how you was screwed Ronnie and just like the fans I hated it! I hated it to much that I decided to make you an offer one that we could both benefit from. What would you say to moving over to the tag division and working with another man who just like you has found himself in a slump?
RM: Slump...I'm not slumping...without your bosses' interference, I'd still be All-Star champion.
David Willyard: I never said you was slumping Mr. McNeil, what I said was your in a slump you just came off a title loss and now find your self lost in the mix of the HWA without any sort of true path set before you. So what would you say to joining my tag division and pairing up with a man who like you finds himself in a slump?
RM: And how does moving down to the tag division get me out of your so-called "slump"?
David laughs at this comment before turning very angry.
David Willyard: Moving down? Is that what you call it? Do you so ignorantly believe that you would be moving down the ladder by joining my tag division Mr. McNeil? If that is how you truly feel about my division then consider this discussion closed and you find your own way out of this hole your in.
David waves McNeil off with his hand as if he is a lost cause before picking up a file and reading it.
RM: Typical...you're in charge of a near dead division, struggling to hold a rating point on Havoc, your champions aren't worth the gold they hold, and you want to feign anger at me? You asked me here, so you need me a hell of a lot more than I need you. So I'll ask again....where does moving down to the tag division benefit me?
David doesn't even bother to look at McNeil keeping his eyes trained on the file as he responds with a hint of sarcasm.
David Willyard: What would you know about a dead division? When you held the All Stars title rating spiraled down the drain with you as champ, your reign as champion left a stain on a division that once held so much promise. Why do you think MY boss got involved and removed you from his beloved All Stars division Mr. McNeil? It's because no one gave a damn about you as All Stars champion the fans chanted boring during your matches for god’s sake! You have lost the edge you once had Ronnie and Senester has completely given up and lost faith in your abilities just as he has Talon. If you don't join one of my so called lowly divisions then know that you are on barrowed time here in the HWA before Senester finally decides to mail you, your release papers.
David stands up from his desk and tosses the file to the side he straightens his collar up and looks Ronnie in the eyes as he continues on in a firm tone.
David Willyard: What you think you’re worth Ronnie your not, in fact you’re not even worth a fraction of what you was those years ago when you was at your peak. If you think I will stand here and let some simpleton washed up has been like you run down my management of my divisions then your wrong and if you don't tread carefully you could find yourself marked for termination after tonight! It's rather easy Ronnie either you want to join my tag division or you don't so what is it?
David pauses before finishing in a mock tone.
David Willyard: Franchise.
Ronnie bites his tongue a bit, before showing a bit
RM: And even with all that you just said, it's more than any of the teams in your division get. None of them more the needle. None of them would draw a fan reaction on their own...hell none of them draw a damn right now together. You can call me what you want, but the record books and the pedigree speak for themselves, and you don't have anyone like it in the tag ranks.
You're not gonna stick me with some punk ass rookie or one of these ####ups, have them fail, and blame me for it. I'd rather go teach my students than go through that again. And as I understand it, your ass is on the firing line if you don't meet the bosses' expectations, so you can talk bold all you want...but you need me...or else you never would have called me.
So just be a man and see the truth for what it is....whatever I am is more than what you have. Admit that, and then we can talk about prospective partners.
David smiles as he wipes the sweat from his face.
David Willyard: I need you as much as I need TNT who is out in my lobby this very moment Mr. McNeil. But I will say this much teaming you with Mr. Wilkinson could be interesting... You will be given a fair chance in my tag division so what's the decision?
RM: Mr. Wilkinson...hmmm....alright. I'll join you
David slides the contract across the desk over to Ronnie. Ronnie picks up the contract, studies over it for a few moments, double checks everything, and signs, then hands David back the contract.
David Willyard: Now it’s up to you and Mr. Wilkinson what you do with your team, I don't suppose he is one of those rookie fuk ups? Good day to you Mr. McNeil
Ronnie looks at David, before walking out of his office, as the scene fades.
