But isn't everyone?
Everyone has their secrets, don't they?
Everyone does things that don't match up with their beliefs
That is the way of life.
Beliefs are just that....things you believe in
They aren't some standard that you're supposed to live by.
Honor isn't a word or a belief that exists in much of life anymore.
But it does in wrestling.
Always has, always will.
Ronnie McNeil, for better or worse, is all about Honor.
Even though from the outside, it may never look that way.
From the outside, I look like a man with a immense ego, and carries himself as such.
Truth is, I'm simply a man that has the opportunity to change all perceptions, and all contradictions.
In a land where the numbers game is what dictates your survival and your advancement, you have to go with the tides in order to get to where you want to go.
But we all stand alone in that ring, no matter what the circumstances are.
2010 was a year in which I lost my way. I've heard all the biting remarks, all the accusations...and they're all true. I haven't been the man I was before. I lost the right to be a contender. Sure, I was the All-Star Champion for the majority of the year, and I defended it well until the end. But I wasn't doing anything to improve my status. I was content, and I let opportunities go by.
I failed myself, not by losing, but by not even trying, not being dedicated enough, by being content with my position. That's not who I am, and I will not be like that ever again.
I'm not truly affiliated with any sect or denomination, but I do have my belief in God, and his son Jesus Christ.
And with that.....
Forgive me, Father...for I am about to commit a sin.
[Ronnie says softly, barely let either lip part from the other greatly, always keeping his voice in a sublime and huddled fashion.]
It has been nearly just as long before I have been brought back to the church...for this, for these sins of mine, I ask for Your forgiveness.
[Ronnie's hands soon interlock with one another, after bringing down the lower bar for him to kneel upon. And as he moves forward to kneel, his head lowers ever so slightly.]
I am on the verge of executing a sin which goes against nearly all the commandments, as well as a few which do not abide by the teachings of scripture and the word which and has it was taught to me in my earlier years. I have caused great pain, both physically and deep down, in others...both those close to me and those I barely knew.
[His eyes flutter once or twice as continues about his words.]
I have left the church behind to pursue what I thought to be right, what I wanted to be right, and what was better for me to be right. I have created and followed idols of my own creation or the creation of others. I have taken those ethical mutations, alongside with their corresponding lines of right and wrong, and brought them into co-operation of my life. And for this...I ask for Your forgiveness.
But most of all, I ask it for at Havoc. I ask for you to be with me, this coming night. I ask for you to look over me and my niece, with more intention and protection than you have ever sought out to do before tonight. And I ask this from you even though I know who it is I ask this from and why I ask for it.
[Ronnie's eyes are open again as his head rises to a upwards angle, looking straight to the alter and a few feet above it, where the church's main crucifix is.]
For at Havoc I must go into the belly of the beast and save my own flesh and blood. A man which has brought talent to this federation. A man who calls himself Senester, and brings a price tag with ever word he gives his blind and bewildered followers. A man who has judged others but will not let himself be judged. A man who has condemned his enemies and his friends with the same lacking degree of humanity and kindness, and yet still preaches forward. For this, and for him, I ask for Your forgiveness.
[Ronnie's eyes have yet to veer away from the altar, let alone from the crucifix as he said those words. He blinks once or twice before continuing, still keeping eyes locked forward.]
I ask that you allow me to show him and all the rest of the wrestlers realize the errors of his ways. I ask for you to empower me with the ability and restrain to bring this man to a condemned future, fitting for not just himself but for everyone else he has seen fit to do so with. I ask for you, from all humanity and kindness there is, to allow me to bring down this man of the sloth. To smite him and all his self-appointed glory. For all of this, I ask from you.
[His eyes flicker back into sanity as his head jots to the side and he pauses. He begins to think of what he has just said, all of it, word for word. And then he speaks again.]
Even though I may seem to ask for a lot, I ask for it, from you, because I know that you are capable of such. I know that if you wanted to, you would...and that you would gladly help me, for the coming battles will be possibly the most trying of my existence, and I wiil need you unyielding strength. These things I shall do, I do them for the sake of Your children, because they deserve the right to choose their fate, instead of having it taken from then by the likes of him. In Your name I pray...AMEN
