(Reporter 1): Other wrestlers in the HWA have commentated that Gabriel may be prone to seeing only what’s in front of him in-ring, and doesn‘t seem to have the awareness of his brother. Is that a sentiment that you share?
(Hans): I honestly couldn’t say. I’ve caught their two matches in the HWA, but nothing else besides, so I’d have to sit down and watch some of their indy matches before I could have a real opinion on the matter. If it turns out that that’s the case, then I’ll see if I can’t exploit that in-ring. If not, well, it’s not the end of the world, I’m the HWA World champion after all; I’m used to adapting on the fly.
(Reporter 1): Certainly in recent memory, no-one’s ever come into the HWA and gotten a shot at the World title so soon into their tenure.
(Hans): Indeed. I don't think anyone's ever come into the HWA, and on their third event no less, gotten their first World title shot, regardless of circumstances. Quite, quite unprecedented.
He smiles.
(Hans): Added incentive, if it was needed, for everyone to be on top of their game!
(Reporter 1): Thinking you’ll walk away the victor?
Hans chuckles lightly, rubbing his left shoulder with his right hand as he does so.
(Hans): Cautiously confident, yes; and I feel I‘ve every right to be. The first hurdle’s always the difficult one, but once you’re up and running…
(Reporter 3): The 2010 HWA Recognition Awards is but a few days away Hans. Do you feel that you’re in with a shout at any of them?
Hans grins, shaking his head from side to side lightly.
(Hans): I’m sure I’ll be in the mix for some of them.
(Reporter 3): Care to name one that you feel that you‘re a dead cert for?
(Hans): Not really, I’d probably have more luck guessing who’ll partner who in the first round of the next Ringmaster.
He smiles.
(Hans): Besides, I don’t want to jinx anything.
The reporter, satisfied, settles down into the chair as another takes his place, as Hans drains most of his water.
(Reporter 2): You mentioned David Willyard earlier Hans. What are your thoughts on him, and the recent steps he's taken to invigorate the Spotlight and Tag divisions?
(Hans): Well he's certainly driven to make them the best possible divisions of their kind, and I applaud that, really, I do. Imagine if we'd had him in charge of the All-Star and World titles when Ronnie and Eddie were drawing out their death rattles as title holders! I wish him every success, and I'm glad to see that there are wrestlers out there who share his vision for the titles.
(Reporter 2): Given that your brother could be classed as being in the Spotlight Division; how do you think that he will find working under Mr Willyard?
(Hans): Beneficial. I’m sure he’d say the same as well were he here.
(Reporter 2): One of those under Mr Willyard’s eye is of course Talon Wilkinson, who has said that you are currently in ’the wrong place, at the wrong time’. Do you have a response to his words?
(Hans): To both that, and the insinuation that I achieved my belt due to a ‘diluted title scene’.
His lips draw back, as he smiles coldly.
(Hans): Firstly, Talon, I’m the right person in the right place. Why? Because I’m quite capable of erasing the stain that was the last two ‘reigns’ that have marred this HWA World title, and take up where AC James left off. I think that’s really all that needs to be said on that point. Secondly, was I to wait until you and Eddie got back together and got the energy flowing again so that there was competition Talon? Sorry, I don’t think so. You both let the World title scene stagnate, so what gives you the right to complain when I pick up the pieces?
He takes another sip of his water.
(Hans): And as for your saying that Ronnie is the next World champion? All that was missing was a stamp of the feet and a whiny ‘but mum…’ Ronnie’s time is upon us is it? Isn’t is always, or so I’ve been hearing for months… *Scoffs* Look, I lost one title already to him, and I’ll be damned if I’m losing this one to him only to watch whatever credibility I’ve brought back to this division crumble away. Beginning with when his name comes up in the Lottery, it’s going to be a long time coming before he get’s another win over me.
He tilts his head back, laughing, as something springs to mind.
(Hans): I’ll say this, I did love his line about hypocrisy and double standards, and about how the HWA is sitting ‘idle’. Well, we have the NWO to thank for that. For over a year they’ve allowed themselves to slide down and now that they realize where they are, they rail against it and say that they’re now ‘invigorating’ things, when all they’re doing is having the mother of all hissy fits that management is rightfully sceptical about their ability to deliver at the highest level over a period of time.
He drains his water.
(Hans): Anyway…
He looks around at the assorted reporters before him, before clapping his hands together, as he begins to rise to his feet.
(Hans): If you don't mind, Vanessa and I have a lunch date to keep. So thank you all, but that’s all I’ve got time for.
The scene fades to black.
(OOC: Phew, was sure I could fit it all in in just one. Damn me and my need to use colours... lol)
