Eventually, he finds the HWA's network and various commercials show, advertising HWA live shows and events, even a teaser trailer for Road to Ruin showing amongst them. Ultimately, the recent promos and recordings made by members of the HWA roster and soon enough, the faces of Anton and Davis appear on the large screen. Michael cranes his neck around, still maintaining his seated position.
(Michael): Hey, bro!
Gabriel's near-distant voice answers from the back of the room.
(Gabriel): Yo!
(Michael): Anton and Davis have responded.
(Gabriel): And?
(Michael): And…we should probably listen to what they have to say and respond in kind...
(Gabriel): Because…..
(Michael): Doesn't matter because Gabriel, just get over here and let's just hear what they have to say and then we can order dinner, I'm starving.
(Gabriel): Fine, give me a second, I've got two colors left and then I'm on the black.
Michael waits impatiently, stifling a small laugh at the paused expressions of Anton and Davis on the television as he takes a drink from his bottle of beer. Around two minutes later, Gabriel jogs down, pool cue still in hand and he stands behind the couch, leaning his weight on the cue in his hand. Michael hits play on the remote and Anton and Davis' promo begins to air.
After the clip finishes a confused expression is displayed on Gabriel's face.
(Gabriel): Okay….is it just me or did they just completely misinterpret slash overlook everything we said on the flight over?
Michael murmurs agreeing nods as he finishes the remnants of his beer.
(Michael): They most certainly did.
(Gabriel): And they somehow think we're trying to be, what was it Anton said?
(Michael): Tweeners.
(Gabriel): We don't use Twitter though….Facebook's where it's at….
(Michael): No, Tweeners, Gabriel. Means we're trying to remain impartial, neither fan favorite nor heel.
Gabriel screws his face up, his brow furrowing before shaking his head in a dismissive manner.
(Gabriel): And what was it that Davis said? The difference between winners and losers isn't winging and losing? That's like a paradox and juxtaposition in the same sentence…
(Michael): All they're doing is trying to paper over the cracks of their own game, Gabriel, let them have at it. We know can beat them and beat them soundly and there's no doubt we can do it again.
(Gabriel): They think we need motivation though? Where the hell did they come to all these conclusions from us saying we've not heard a peep from them since the start of last week?
(Michael): Each victory has given us momentum and each victory spurred us on further. You even lasted longer with Hans than Anton did and you immediately bounced back the next week.
Gabriel musters a smile small and a light laugh.
(Gabriel): I guess so, yeah, you're right. *Gabriel scoffs* Condescending little sons of b###hes though aren't they?
Michael reciprocates Gabriel's laugh with one of his own.
(Michael): Only to those that it affects, brother. Let them think we're underestimating them. More fool them I'd say. We've apparently "raised their ire" so we'll see if they bring anything new to the table at Havoc. I wouldn't hold my breath though, as long as we stick to the game plan, the top of the ladder is just gonna get closer and closer.
(Gabriel): Anyway, I'm bored of them already. Let's order dinner and have a couple of games of pool.
(Michael): You rack 'em up, I'll order the food.
(Gabriel): No problemo.
Gabriel strides to the back of the room to set up the pool table and Michael begins to dial a number into his cell phone as the scene finishes and fades out.
