(Mike Anderson): Interesting. On a similar, but unrelated note, have you heard Maniac's recent words for you?
(Hans): I have. And that he's preparing himself for a shot at my title doesn't faze me in the slightest; his name will be drawn from that tumbler sooner or later after all. As it stands though, the man's attention over this past year has been on Bryan Deas, who let's be honest, is so far beneath me in terms of skill that he's subterranean. Now admittedly, we've only faced off once before, and that's when I beat both him and… I think it was Lucas Valentine…?
He purses his lips momentarily, tapping his chin as he casts his mind back.
(Hans): Yeah, it was definitely Lucas. So yes, I've beaten him already in a triple threat match. Comfortably, I might add, but of course, not getting ahead of myself, it's a completely different ball game compared to one-on-one. He is after all, a former two time World champion, and I'll give him the respect that such a feat deserves, but that will be tempered with the plain and simple truth that he's not been at that, and consequently, my level, since he's returned to the HWA.
(Mike Anderson): He says that he's been disappointed in your title reign so far, anything you'd like to say to him regarding that Hans? It's quite a bold statement to make afterall…
(Hans): Oh it's bold alright. But as I've already said, the man's spent over a year fixated on Bryan Deas, and has been more concerned with, and rightly so given his amnesia, results outside of, rather than in the ring. And that’s before I get onto the subject of why he’s chosen this moment to bring me up in the first place…
He trails off laughing softly.
(Mike Anderson): Moving on Hans, what does this defeat last week mean to you personally?
Hans allows the air in his lungs to escape slowly through pursed lips for several seconds before responding, brow furrowing somewhat.
(Hans): It means we don’t have bragging rights Mike, that’s really all this match was ever about. We can beat them one on one… with the notable exception of their most vocal suffragist in my own case, but I digress, it took their entire combined might, alongside us gifting them the ideal referee to overcome us. I’ll admit that I’m interested to see who they’ll be forced to dig up next if we continue to ’deny’ them what they feel is rightfully theirs, because so far, a ‘washed up has-been’ as their new leader was being referred to mere months ago… by them, a hobo, a delinquent with five or six months training and a kid just out of the academy himself, is hardly causing me sleepless nights as it is.
(Mike Anderson): I bet your injuries are though!
(Hans): *Laughing* Yes, yes they are.
(Mike Anderson): One last question to finish up Hans, Senester has mentioned that he’s ‘disappointed’ in you…
(Hans): So I hear. Didn’t stop him sending me a game request earlier today to play some multiplayer on Killzone 3 though…
The sound of Mike’s laughter can be heard from the iPhone.
(Mike Anderson): Does what he’s said about Butch worry you?
(Hans): Of course it does. I take very seriously what this man says, because one way or another, he has a way of making things happen. Rest assured though, I’ll choose the right side when it comes down to it.
(Mike Anderson): Well, Hans, thank you once again for giving us your time.
(Hans): Not a problem Mike. I’ll see you soon!
The scene fades to black as Hans disconnects the call, and begins to lean back further into the sofa.
